A Manual of Midwifery 1915 - By Thomas Watts Eden - J & A Churchill, London
Thomas Watts Eden FRCOG (8 May 1863 – 22 September 1946) was consulting obstetric physician to Charing Cross Hospital and consulting surgeon to both Queen Charlotte's Hospital and the Chelsea Hospital for Women. During the First World War he served as a major with the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was a founding fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

This book has my Nan's name written inside with the date Nov 1932, which from family research, that date I know had a profound effect on her. This is a fourth edition printed in 1919.  It does have some issues, a couple of pages have come loose, but then it is over 100 years old.  The cover and binding are not bad and still together.

It really is not for the squeamish, as it has both black and white and colour illustrations, but would make an amazing present for any one training to be a Midwife in this day and age.

Please take a good look at the pictures as they form part of the description, and bear in mind that it is second hand so will not be perfect. If you have any questions, like to see more photos or come and see it, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Waldron & Plotkin Collectables

Born from the vision of two people, two worlds, two cultures in the 1950s, so I am taking their vision and running with it. I have this website so thought 'why not?'

Antique, Old, Traditional, Aged, Vintage, Dated, Period, Historical, Retro, Pre-loved - they are all words to describe what?  Nowadays too many items are defined as something they're not, so as we were told if you find something you like or mayhap even love, then buy it.  Your choice - it's too late when they’re gone.

Please browse this part of my website, but if you would like to visit then please do not hesitate to   Contact Becci.

Most items in this section are pre-loved so will have some wear in one form or another. Many have never been used ‘new’ but I have had them a while.  All the items and their conditions have been described as accurately as possible.  The photographs are part of those descriptions.

Please keep coming back as most of the items are from my own family collections and I have so much which needs to be parted with. it will take a while for me to put them all on here. Some of them are payment on Collection due to their 'pre-loved' condition or weight. Why not come and see them?

I am open to sensible offers.

Light and Kindness Always - Becci
